Fill Your Bucket

I love Fridays!

But not for the reasons you’d expect (I mean, of course, hello weekend!)

No, it’s better!

A while back, I started stacking up my coaching calls on Friday afternoons. At first, it was because that was my only open time, thanks to our leadership’s brief “no meetings Friday” declaration. But as Friday meetings crept back in, I decided to keep the afternoon blocked for coaching and mentoring.

I realized that ending my week like this, talking to others about achieving their goals and being more fulfilled, was bucket-filling and soul-quenching. It is the most beautiful and energizing way to end a long and often hectic week.

As I delve deeper into the positive psychology coaching approach, they say you draw energy from your strengths, but until now, I’d never considered coaching as one of mine. Moreover, a recent strengths finder assessment put coaching only middle of the way for me. But it put things like authenticity, growth mindset, relationship building, cognitive agility, and encouraging participation in my top 5, so it starts to make sense why coaching is so rich for me.

Leaning into your strengths as a means to support and drive the things you do can help manifest the goals you desire to have. This “be, do, have” mindset encourages you to fill your bucket and focus on things that bring you fulfillment on your journey to your goals. It all comes full circle.

What do you do to fill your bucket??
